Luke McCarthy from Essex cut his hair and has raised over £750 for the Freddie Farmer Foundation charity.
Luke, whose dad Mick is a good friend of the charity, said: “After 3 and a half years of growing my hair, the time had finally come for me to cut off my locks!
“I figured what better way to do it than to raise money for a great charity.”
Luke gave his hair away to the Little Princess Trust Foundation, a charity which provides real hair wigs to children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
Charity Officer Karen Smith said: “It’s an amazing amount of money raised, and we are so grateful. And it’s fantastic that the hair gets donated to the Little Princess Trust Foundation.”
